I picked up a very cool Celebrity Sports Center matchcover on eBay recently. It’s yellow with brown and avocado green bowling pins. From the graphics, looks to be from the mid to late 60s. A great big thanks to Heather David for providing these pics!

Heather is currently working on a web site that will document and celebrate the Santa Clara Valley (now known as Silicon Valley) in the 1950s and 1960s. It will be called “SV Modern”. In recent years, some fantastic buildings, signs, etc. have been leveled for high density housing and commercial development. I’m sure that the same is going on in your neck of the woods. Most of the preservation efforts around here focus on the turn-of-the-century to the 1940s… leaving the period that I hold so near and dear highly vulnerable!
